WCAG AA and AAA contrast checker with live ratios, pass/fail badges for normal and large text, and suggested fixes. Built and hosted by us.
Why we recommend it
Contrast is the one accessibility check that is genuinely objective, and the one most often done by eye. This gives the number, against the surface the colour is actually painted on.
Strengths
- Free with no account, runs entirely in your browser. Covers AA and AAA for both normal and large text, and suggests a corrected colour when a pair fails.
Drawbacks
- Contrast is only one of the WCAG success criteria — passing here does not make an interface accessible. It also cannot know which surface a colour will sit on in practice, and checking against white when the real background is a tinted card is the most common way a checked palette still ships inaccessible.
