Put your product in front of designers who are actively deciding what to buy.

What this is

thedesigntools.site is a curated directory of 500+ design tools across 9 disciplines, each reviewed by hand with its real drawbacks written down — not just its strengths. Designers come here when they are comparing tools, checking alternatives, and making purchase decisions. That is a rare audience: people with intent, not browsers.

Who visits

A growing audience of 10,000 monthly visitors and rising. They are product designers, graphic designers, industrial designers, architects, and creative directors — professionals who use design tools daily and are actively evaluating which ones to adopt, switch to, or recommend to their team.

Unlike a generic design blog where readers browse for inspiration, every visitor here arrives with a specific question: “What is the best tool for this?” Your product can be the answer.

How you can be seen

Homepage

Featured placement card

Your product appears as a sponsored card in the “Featured Design Tools” or “Essential AI Tools” section — the first thing every visitor sees. One sponsor per section, no competing placements.

Homepage

Partner Discounts grid

A dedicated card in the “Handpicked Partner Discounts” section with your logo, tagline, and call-to-action link. Visible on the homepage and the deals page.

Tool pages

Discipline sponsorship

Sponsor an entire discipline page with a banner above the tool grid. Your brand appears alongside every tool in your category — the highest-intent page on the site, where designers are already browsing tools like yours.

Blog

Article sponsorship

Sponsor a comparison article or alternatives guide. Your product gets a “Sponsored by” line and a contextual callout within the article. These guides target “X alternatives” queries — the searches where designers are closest to switching.

Newsletter

Newsletter spotlight

A dedicated section in the weekly design tools newsletter. Your product, your pitch, your link — directly to designers who opted in. One sponsor per issue, no competing placements.

Custom

Bespoke partnership

Have something specific in mind — a tool review, a sponsored guide, a co-branded resource, a long-term partnership? We are open to creative arrangements that respect the editorial line below.

Why this directory is different

Most design-tool directories read like advertising — every tool listed as “the best,” no weaknesses mentioned, sponsored placements disguised as editorial picks. This site exists because that is broken. Every tool here lists its real drawbacks, and that honesty is the entire reason anyone visits.

That changes what sponsorship means here:

  • Sponsored placements are always labelled. Every sponsored card, banner, and section carries a visible “Sponsored” tag. No native advertising disguised as editorial. Your audience knows it is an ad — and trusts the site more for saying so.
  • Sponsorship never affects listings. A sponsor does not get listed in the directory, does not get a softer drawbacks section, and does not get competitors removed. Paid and editorial content are structurally separate.
  • Limited slots. A maximum of one sponsor per homepage section, one per discipline page, one per article, one per newsletter issue. Your placement is never crowded.

These rules are not a limitation. They are the product. An audience that trusts the directory is worth far more than one that has learned to scroll past it. Sponsoring a site people trust is worth more than sponsoring one they do not.

Pricing

Every partnership is different. Pricing depends on the placement, the duration, and the fit — and we would rather talk it through than publish a rate card that does not reflect what you actually need. Send an email, tell us what you are building, and you will get a straight answer with options that make sense for your budget.

Sponsors who join early get locked-in rates and prime placement before the slots fill. As the directory grows, so do the rates — but not for partners already on board.
