Every code on this page is static: your link or text is encoded directly into the squares, so it works forever with nothing in between. Many “free” generators give you a short link on their server instead — fine until they change the terms, start charging, or shut down and your printed codes die with them. There is no server here to do that: the code is drawn on your device and the download comes straight from your browser.

Wi-Fi QR code
Pick “Wi-Fi login”, enter the network name, security type and password. Guests point their phone camera at the code and join without typing a 20-character password from a chalkboard. Works for hidden networks too.
vCard QR code
Pick “Contact card” and fill in the details. Scanning one of these offers to save you straight to the phone’s contacts — the classic use is the back of a business card, where a bare URL would just open a page the visitor then has to read.
QR code for a PDF or menu
Pick “PDF / menu link” and paste the address of the file where it already lives — your own site, your drive, your ordering provider. We don’t host files, deliberately: a generator that hosts your menu is a generator that can hold it hostage. The code simply opens your link, so update the file any time without reprinting.
Custom colours that still scan
Scanners read dark modules on a light background, so contrast is the whole game. The tool computes your contrast ratio live (the same maths as our Color Contrast Checker) and shows a scan-safe / risky badge in plain language. Gradients are fine when both ends stay dark on a light background — pair them with our Gradient Generator if you’re hunting for the exact stops. Light-on-dark “inverted” codes look slick and scan badly; the tool will tell you.
QR code with a logo
Upload a PNG, JPG or SVG (or pick a neutral icon, or set centre text) and error correction is raised automatically so the code survives the covered middle. Keep the logo under ~35% of the code, keep “hide dots behind logo” on, then press “Verify” — it decodes the rendered code in your browser and tells you it scans before you print a thousand of them. Frequently asked questions
Do free QR codes expire?
Ours never do — they’re static codes with the data encoded directly, so there is no account to lapse and no service to discontinue. Codes expire only when a generator routes your scan through its own short link and then changes the deal; nothing here routes anywhere.
Is this really free with no sign-up?
Yes. No account, no watermark, no scan limits, no email capture. Everything runs in your browser, which is also why we couldn’t charge per scan even if we wanted to — we never see your codes.
How do I put my logo in the middle?
Open section 3, choose “Upload a logo”, and pick a PNG, JPG or SVG. Error correction rises to Q or H automatically, the dots hide behind the logo, and the size slider keeps it in the safe zone. Press “Verify: does it scan?” afterwards for a decoded-in-browser confirmation.
Can I use brand colours?
Yes, within physics: dark code on a light background. The live badge warns on low contrast, inverted colours, or a background so dark the code disappears. When in doubt, print one copy and scan it with two different phones.
What size should I print?
The tool shows a minimum physical width for the data you encoded — roughly speaking, denser codes (vCards, calendar events) need to be bigger than short links. Never shrink below the quiet zone either: scanners need calm space around the code.
Which download format do I need?
SVG for anything printed professionally — it’s true vector and stays sharp at any size. PNG at 2048 or 4096 px for screens and office printers. Transparent PNG when the code sits on a coloured background or photo. PDF when the print shop asks for one.
Can I make many codes at once?
Yes — section 6 takes a pasted list or a CSV (one item per line, optional label after a comma, up to 200) and downloads them all as a ZIP in your current style. Bulk codes use plain high-contrast styling best; fancy gradients across 200 codes is how you learn which of your colleagues’ phones are old.
Is my content uploaded anywhere?
No. The encoding, styling, logo compositing, scan test and ZIP all happen in JavaScript on your device. The only network use is loading the free rendering libraries themselves from a public CDN on first use — your content is never sent anywhere, which you can confirm in your browser’s network tab.
