Submit a Tool
Free submissions are read by a person within 7 days — no automatic acceptance, no pay-to-list. Not sure it fits? The two lists below say. Already listed? Claim your page for free.
What passes — and what doesn’t
Two lists in plain language: what gets listed, and what gets declined. Read them before you fill anything in.
✓ What we accept
- It is a tool, not a service. Apps, plugins, extensions, templates, icon sets, libraries — anything a designer uses to make work.
- It works today. A live link anyone can open and try, right now.
- It is made for people who design. UI/UX, product, graphic, motion, 3D, architecture, no-code — and AI tools with a real job for designers.
- Any price. Free, freemium, one-time or subscription. Price never decides acceptance.
- Any platform. Web, macOS, Windows, iOS, Android — or a plugin for Figma, Framer, Webflow, Sketch or Blender.
- It is yours to submit. You built it, or you represent whoever did.
- It is new to the directory. Search first — if it is already listed, claim the page instead.
✕ What we don’t accept
- Not a tool. Services, agencies, courses, books, newsletters, events. Post a job, share a prompt, an inspiration or a designer profile instead.
- Not live yet. Waitlists, coming-soon pages and private betas with nothing to try.
- Generic AI. An AI product needs a specific job for designers — a general chatbot or image generator does not qualify.
- A copy of something listed. A re-skin of an existing tool with nothing added.
- Broken, empty or dishonest. Dead links, parked domains, placeholder pages, invented reviews.
- Harmful or illegal. Malware, scams, cracked or pirated software, adult content.
- Already listed. Duplicates get declined — claim yours instead.
- An ad in disguise. Paid placement is bought separately at /advertise/, always labelled as an ad, and it never buys acceptance.
Every submission is read by a person within 7 days, and if we decline we tell you why. Still unsure? Write to hello@thedesigntools.site before you send it.
Tell us about a design tool that belongs in the directory — every field marked with a * is required, including your email, where the decision goes. It takes about two minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Review time, costs, claims — and where a prompt or a portfolio goes instead.
Anything that works today, is built for designers and is not already listed. Services, waitlists, generic AI and copies of existing tools get declined. The full two-column list sits near the top of this page: what we accept and what we don’t.
Those have their own forms: submit a prompt, submit an inspiration, submit a designer profile. Job posts go to the job board.
Seven days, read by a person, with an email either way from hello@thedesigntools.site. Prefer minutes? Tick the $5 Maker Verified listing and the page is written in our voice and published within minutes.
Free — review, listing and drawbacks included. $5 Maker Verified is an optional one-time fast track, and sponsored placements are bought separately and always labelled as ads.
No. Rankings, listings and drawbacks are identical either way, and nobody can pay to be listed. See the editorial policy.
Yes. Every listing says where a tool falls short as well as where it is good. That is non-negotiable, and it is the reason the directory is worth reading.
Claim it free at /maker/. Once you are verified you can reply to the review and manage the page; sign in any time at /manage-listing/.
