Logo Maker
Combine an icon and text into a mark, move everything freely, export. Every layer stays in your browser.
Add icon and text layers — or start from an icon-left, icon-top, badge or monogram template — drag them into place with snap guides, then export a PNG at any size, a plain SVG, or an outlined SVG whose text needs no font installed. Drafts autosave in your browser, and you can save or reopen a project file any time. The icon set is the Lucide library (ISC licence).
Logo or just an icon? This builds an icon and your name together. If you only need the icon, for an app or as a favicon source, the Icon Maker is quicker: pick a glyph, style it, export.
An icon, some text, and an export button. No account, no watermark, and no file leaves your browser.
Icon and text, stacked
Add as many layers as the mark needs, each with its own colour, size, rotation, letter-spacing and curve. Undo and redo, duplicate, lock, hide, reorder and align are all built in.
The Lucide library
The full Lucide set (ISC licence), searchable in place, so a usable mark does not depend on drawing one.
PNG, SVG and projects
SVG stays sharp at any scale, including an outlined version with text converted to paths. Save the editable project as JSON, reopen it later, and rely on autosave while you work.
Nothing is uploaded
No account, no project stored on a server, nothing to delete afterwards.
What actually makes a usable logo
Most logos fail for mechanical reasons, not aesthetic ones. A mark has to survive being shrunk to 16 px in a browser tab, printed in one colour, and placed on a dark background it was never designed for.
Two tests catch most of it. Shrink the export to about 32 px and check the shape is still identifiable. Then convert it to pure black on white: if the shapes merge, the design was relying on colour, and colour is the first thing to go. The tool’s Checks panel runs both live — a 32 px preview, a dark-background preview and a one-colour preview — on every change.
Icon, wordmark, or both
- A wordmark alone — the most reliable option for a young company, because it teaches people the name.
- An icon alone — only works once people recognise it. Almost never the right first move.
- A lockup — icon plus name as one unit. What most businesses want, and what this tool builds.
Fix the relationship once and export the lockup as a single SVG, so the spacing is identical everywhere it appears.
The files to keep
Keep the outlined SVG as the master — text converted to paths, so it renders without the font installed, at any size from a favicon to a banner. Alongside it, export a 1024 px PNG for app stores, 512 px for a web app manifest, and a transparent version for dark surfaces. For a real .ico file, use the favicon generator.
Where this tool stops
It composes icon and text layers. It does not draw custom letterforms or replace someone who does this for a living — this is for the case where you need a credible mark today, for a side project, a deck or a placeholder. To draw the shapes yourself, try an open-source vector editor, or Illustrator alternatives for the paid options.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use the Logo Maker?
No. There is no sign-up and nothing to install — add a layer, style it, export.
Can I combine an icon and text into one logo?
Yes. Add as many icon and text layers as you like, each with its own colour, size and position.
Can I export a transparent PNG?
Yes. Set the background to “None” and the PNG keeps transparency, at any size from 16×16 to 1024×1024px.
Can I use this logo commercially?
Yes — Lucide’s ISC licence permits it and the composition is yours. Note that a mark built from a public icon library cannot be exclusive, so it is a weak basis for a trade mark.
Should I export PNG or SVG?
SVG as the file you keep, because it stays sharp and stays editable. Export PNGs too for app stores and social profiles.
How do I make the logo work on a dark background?
Export a second version with no background and light colours. A mark designed for white rarely has enough contrast on black.
What size should my logo be?
Design it to read at 32 px and keep the master as SVG. Useful fixed sizes are 1024, 512, 192 and 180 px.
What is the difference between this and the Icon Maker?
Both use the same icon library and styling. The Icon Maker makes one icon in one square; this adds text layers and lets you move every layer, which is what a logo with your name needs.
Can I undo mistakes?
Yes. Undo and redo cover layers, colours, backgrounds and shapes, with keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z). Structural changes are kept in a 50-step history.
Will I lose my work if I close the tab?
No. Drafts autosave in your browser and are restored when you reopen the page. For safekeeping or moving devices, use Save project to download an editable JSON file, then Open project to reload it.
What is the outlined SVG for?
Plain SVG text needs the font installed to render correctly. The outlined version converts straight text to vector paths, so the file looks right anywhere. Curved text stays as text — a documented limitation — so flatten a curve before outlining if you need paths.
Is anything uploaded to a server?
No. Every layer, colour and export happens client-side in your browser.
