No account, nothing uploaded

One icon for an app, a favicon or a slide: search a full icon library, style it, export a PNG or SVG. Everything happens in your browser.

Search roughly 2,000 icons — or use a letter or emoji glyph instead — set the colour, background, shape and shadow, then export a PNG, SVG or WebP at any size from 16 to 1024 px, an all-sizes ZIP, or a full app-icon pack. The icon set is the Lucide library (ISC licence), free to use commercially.

Icon or logo? This makes a single icon. If your brand name goes next to it, use the Logo Maker: the same icons and styling, plus text layers you can position freely.

An icon maker for people who do not want to draw one. It searches a real library and does the styling and the export client-side, with no account first.

Library

About 2,000 icons

Full-text search across the Lucide set — type “cart”, “shield”, “calendar” rather than hunting categories.

Styling

Colour, shape, shadow

Solid or gradient backgrounds, four container shapes including a true squircle, soft or hard shadows, optional grain.

Export

PNG, SVG, WebP and packs

PNGs from 16 to 1024 px, WebP, an SVG that stays sharp at any scale, an all-sizes ZIP, an app-icon pack with favicon.ico and PWA files, a shareable design link, or straight to the clipboard.

Privacy

Nothing is uploaded

No account and no project on a server. Close the tab and the only copy is the file you exported.

How to create an icon

  1. Search for a glyph. Type what the icon should show; the library filters as you type. Or switch the glyph source to Letter for an initial, or Emoji for an emoji mark.
  2. Set the colours. Pick the icon colour and a solid background, a gradient, or none for a transparent export.
  3. Choose a shape. Square, rounded, circle or squircle — the squircle is what iOS and Android app icons use.
  4. Export. Pick a PNG size, take the SVG or WebP, download the app-icon pack, copy the design link, or copy to the clipboard.

What the exported file is good for

1024 px is what app stores ask for, 512 px covers a web app manifest and 192 px the Android home screen. Keep the SVG as the master: the same file works at 16 px in a tab and on a poster. For a browser tab icon with a real .ico file, the app-icon pack already includes one — or use the favicon generator to build a set from any image. The pack also adds the Apple touch icon, Android icons, a web manifest and the copy-paste snippet for your site header.

Where this stops being the right tool

It makes one icon from one glyph, with no multi-layer canvas — so it suits app icons, section markers and placeholder marks rather than a full identity. For an icon and a wordmark together, use the Logo Maker. To draw the shape yourself, an open-source vector editor is the honest answer.

Frequently asked questions

Is the icon maker free?

Yes, completely. No paid tier, no export limit, no watermark, no sign-up.

Do I need an account to create an icon?

No. Nothing to register, nothing to install. Open the page, search, style, export.

Can I use the icons commercially?

Yes. Lucide is released under the ISC licence, which permits commercial use, and the styling you apply is yours.

Can I export a transparent PNG?

Yes. Set the background to “None” and the PNG keeps its transparency at any size.

Can I export an SVG?

Yes, a real vector file — sharp at any size and editable afterwards in any vector editor.

What is the difference between this and the Logo Maker?

This styles a single glyph into one square mark. The Logo Maker combines icon and text layers, which is what a wordmark needs.

Can I download an app-icon pack?

Yes. The app-icon pack is a ZIP with platform-ready files: Apple touch icon, Android icons in 192 and 512 px for your web manifest, a multi-size favicon.ico, every PNG size, the manifest itself and the link snippet to paste into your pages. Everything is rendered from your current design in your browser.

Can I share my design with a link?

Yes. The Share link button copies a URL that holds your whole design — icon, colours, shape and background. Opening it restores the same design. Nothing is stored on a server; the design travels inside the link itself.

Can I use a letter or emoji instead of an icon?

Yes. Switch the glyph source to Letter for one or two characters, or Emoji for an emoji mark. Letters use system fonts so they render the same everywhere; emoji render as text, which most modern systems display in colour.

Is anything uploaded to a server?

No. Every search, colour and export happens client-side in your browser.
